POLITESSE landed a 2m bumper here last time and makes lots of appeal on her previous bumper form. She was third to Longhouse Poet and Monkfish (latter went on to win the Albert Bartlett earlier this month) on debut at the Punchestown Festival last year and was a creditable second at Leopardstown in a Grade 2 on her seasonal reappearance this year.
She is making her hurdles debut today but she's bred for this sphere, being closely related to Don Poli, so if she can jump a hurdle first time out she's got a solid chance.
2.10 Thurles
I want to take on Mary Frances, the favourite, who won a handicap at Punchestown last time, making all. Things might not fall so kindly today and, in JETZ, she faces a rival who could be nicely treated on these terms against her. He's a Grade 3 novice chase winner and is rated 143 over fences. If he can run to anything like that level over hurdles, as he did when outpaced by Charli Parcs but finishing a solid second over 2m2f at Leopardstown last time, then he'd likely go close at the weights.
2.40 Thurles
GOULANE JESSIE struggled over fences in two starts in January but appreciated the return to hurdles at Fairyhouse last time, keeping on well into a share of second. She has edged up another 2lb but has made pleasing progress this season and gets on well with her conditional rider.
3.40 Thurles
A couple of Paul Nolan's have run well for us in recent weeks - Mon Lino and Discorama - and his CRAZYHEART also appears competitively weighted in the last of the ITV4-televised races today. He ran over C&D last time, chasing home Kavanaghs Corner, but now they lock horns in a handicap there is a weight swing, offering hope he could turn the tables on that rival and figure at the business end.
